Policy & Procedures: Displays & Exhibits

DISPLAYS & EXHIBITS

The Learning Commons functions as an intellectual and cultural resource for the BPCC community. Exhibits and displays are a means through which users can share experiences, appreciate special interests, and exchange information.

When not in use to promote Learning Commons-related activities or services, display and exhibit cases are available to academic divisions and student groups or individuals engaged in educational, cultural, intellectual, or charitable activities.

The following criteria are considered for exhibit proposals, although not all exhibits will meet all criteria:

  • Educational content (ranging from scholarly to general informational value)
  • Broadness of appeal of the theme
  • If the topic is controversial, an objective presentation is required
  • Does not promote the political, religious, or social doctrines of any single person or group, nor the financial profit of any individual or commercial organization
  • Reflects originality, artistic expression, and experimentation

Groups and individuals who are approved to exhibit will be responsible for setting up and removing their own materials.

To inquire about setting up an exhibit, contact the Library Assistant.
